Convert an hourly wage to an annual salary (or a salary to an hourly rate) and see the monthly, biweekly, weekly and daily amounts before taxes.

Formula: hourly rate × hours per week × weeks per year. $25/hour × 40 × 52 = $52,000 per year.

Gross amounts before taxes and deductions.

Quick rule

For a full-time 40-hour week, an hourly wage times 2,080 gives the annual salary, and an annual salary divided by 2,080 gives the hourly rate. A quick mental shortcut is "double it and add three zeros": $20/hour is about $40,000 per year (exactly $41,600).

The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour (U.S. Department of Labor); many states and cities set a higher minimum.
